  abstract = {Article acquaints with the structure and basic principles of compiling the encyclopedia "Ukrainian language" – the first specialized code of data about Ukrainian language and linguistics in the world. By the example of articles from mentioned encyclopedia basic features of this type editions are shown: 1) system character (cyclicity) of basic knowledge and 2) its teaching, educational character. Special attention is given to the cycles of articles new to language encyclopedias, personnels, and also to the combination of text with the series of illustrations},
